Design verification is the independent engineering check that a machine, component or modification conforms to the applicable design standard and is soundly engineered. It is required when equipment is imported without recognised design registration, when a modification alters the load path, or when a bespoke arrangement must be shown to be safe. Our verification confirms design conformity to the AS 1418 series and documents the basis on which the equipment can be used or certified.
What design verification covers
We assess the design against the relevant part of the AS 1418 series and sound engineering principles, reviewing calculations, drawings and specifications, and performing independent analysis where needed. For modifications, we verify that the change does not compromise structural integrity, stability or safety-system function.
Where original design documentation is absent, as with some imported machines, we establish what verification is required to demonstrate conformity so the machine can be legitimately certified.
