EWP Inspections Newcastle

On-site EWP and crane certification across Newcastle and the Hunter, servicing the port, coal chain, energy and heavy-industry sectors.

Newcastle anchors the Hunter's heavy-industry economy — the world's largest coal export port, energy generation, rail and a growing offshore and renewables pipeline. That mix keeps a demanding fleet of vehicle loading cranes, mobile cranes, boom lifts and overhead cranes in service, often in corrosive coastal and dusty industrial conditions. EWP Certification Australia inspects and certifies this equipment on-site across the region.

Port, coal chain and heavy industry

The Port of Newcastle and the coal-handling infrastructure at Kooragang and Carrington rely heavily on overhead cranes, gantry cranes and heavy mobile cranes. We carry out periodic and major inspections to the AS 2550 series, working in place around the coal chain's tight operational schedule and paying particular attention to corrosion and fatigue in the coastal environment.

Steel, aluminium and manufacturing sites through the region operate vehicle loading cranes and overhead travelling cranes that we inspect and load-test against AS 1418.11 and AS 1418.18 as applicable.

Energy, rail and construction

Power generation and the Hunter's rail corridor bring insulated EWPs and telescopic boom lifts into regular use for maintenance at height. Urban renewal across the Newcastle CBD and Honeysuckle precinct sustains a steady construction fleet of scissor lifts and articulating boom lifts, all of which we inspect to AS 1418.10 and AS 2550.10.

On-site mobile inspection and turnaround

Our teams attend depots, ports and sites throughout the Hunter with portable load-test and NDT equipment, so equipment is certified without travelling to Sydney. Routine annual inspection reports and log-book updates are typically issued within one to two business days.
